6. Halter Neckline Wedding Gowns
In this style of neckline, the dress is sleeveless and the halter neck part wraps or hangs around the neck, or crosses over at the back of the neck. Some halterneck dresses are backless and look sexy. There are different styles of halter neck top wedding dresses: high neck halter neck, halter neck with sweetheart neckline, illusion lace-front halter neck, deep V-neck halter neck style and more. Suitable for: Wedding gowns with halter neckline flatters tall women with buffed/ toned arms and shoulders. If you’re a short bride or have small shoulders, you could look like the dress is wearing you (or swallowed you) in a halter neck dress. However, some smallish (petite) women tend to pull off a halter neck dress, and that depends on the particular dress’ silhouette. An example of a halter neck dress is Meghan Markle’s beautiful wedding reception dress; her second dress was a stunning, white and long gown designed by Stella McCartney.
7. Illusion Neckline Wedding Gowns
Put simply, a wedding gown with an illusion neckline is a version of strapless gowns where the exposed top part of the dress is covered with a sheer, see-through /transparent lace (illusion lace). What’s the difference between a regular strapless wedding gown and illusion style wedding gown (you may ask)? In the illusion neckline, a transparent, sheer lace fabric (illusion lace) covers the top part of the dress bodice, so that the bride’s chest and shoulders are not exposed (unlike with Strapless wedding dresses). When this type of lace is used on the sleeves, the wedding gown is also referred to as Illusion sleeves wedding gown. Illusion sleeves are available in all styles of sleeves – sleeveless, long/ short sleeves, etc.
In some dresses, the illusion lace (top) part of this neckline flows into the back, and the lace would feature beautiful beaded designs or tattoo lace appliques. Sometimes, illusion lace runs down to the sleeves, so that you could also have illusion sleeves (long, short or capped). Illusion neckline wedding dresses are subtle and sexy at the same time.
