It is a two-piece dress made up of a matching tube top and skirt (mini skirt or long skirt) and she completes the look with jigida waist beads, coral bead necklaces and beaded wrist bangles, beaded hair ornaments and horsetail (the NdIgbo equivalent of the Yoruba hand-fan).
Igbo traditional marriage rites are held at the bride’s family residence, and the bride-to-be is required to go out and welcome her parents-in-law outside as they arrive. The Ada Igbo outfit is the traditional dressing an Igbo maiden (ada Igbo) wears when she comes out to greet her in-laws to her (bride’s) home. The traditional fabric for the Ada-Igbo bridal attire is either Ankara wax print in popular Igbo designs or George material.

Please can I use 400k for the celebration of my traditional and white marriage same day, please good event planner should advice,if possible DM me ur direct contact let’s chat.thanks for the warm advice and way forward
Hello Peter, yes – you can have a decent wedding (traditional and white wedding on same-day) for N400k (four hundred thousand Naira) in Nigeria.
1) The surest way to make sure you don’t spend more than N400k is to invite a few guests. Do not invite more people than your budget can feed. Doing a budget breakdown will give you an idea of what to spend on food and drinks.
2) Budget Breakdown: I also recommend to set a spending limit of different major expenses (listed below), before you spend a kobo. Our free Nigerian Wedding Budget calculator will automatically give you a breakdown once you type in your 400k budget amount.
-Catering budget (food, drinks, cakes)
-Venue hire, hall decoration, chairs rentals, ushers
-Fashion budget – couple’s attire (bride’s dress, groom’s suit, trad attire, shoes, etc.), wedding rings, makeup & hair, groom’s grooming
-Souvenirs and Stationeries
-Wedding Vendors fees: Planner, hall decorator, photographer, DJ, MC, etc.
-Miscellaneous: For any need that was forgotten
*For your N400k budget, you can set your food and drinks budget at around N150k. That should give you an idea of how many people you can feed, depending on per-plate or per-person cost your caterer agrees with you. N2k per person on food and drinks means you can invite 75 guests. If your caterer charges N1,500 per person on food and drinks, it means you can feed 100 guests.
Our wedding budget calculator page will also give you an idea of how much to spend on venue – so that you look for nice wedding halls that are not go above that amount (okay to spend below that).
*We here (and me) do not offer wedding planning services. We focus on creating awesome, practical tips to help about-to-wed couples plan their wedding on their own. You can easily find a good planner by asking around – ask wedding photographers, wedding cake bakers and dress rental shops, as they all work together. I believe you will find a suitable planner.
Now, go to our budget calculator page to get your N400k suggested expenses breakdown. Leave me a comment to let me know you used it.
Hope that helps.
